Why did you become an instructor at Barre Groove?
Even while teaching fitness at other studios, I always found myself taking classes at Barre Groove. Barre Groove’s inclusiveness and community welcomes everyone that walks through the doors. I was always impressed with how every instructor made me feel like I belonged (because let’s face it we all know I’m a lot!). Barre Groove celebrates every client’s sparkle, and I knew that energy was something I wanted permanently in my life. Plus, I just love to bounce!
What is your background in fitness and/or dance?
After graduating college in 2018, I moved to Boston and immediately started teaching barre and other fitness classes in the Boston area. While at college, I was a member of the UMass Amherst dance team where I got to dance at football and basketball games and compete at College Nationals. After graduation, I missed the studio, the creativity, and the energy which are all things that teaching fitness brought back into my life!
What motivates you as an instructor?
As a client, I loved the sassy Barre Groove energy, and I loved leaving every class feeling like my best self! As an instructor, that will always be my goal. I teach every class to help push each of us physically, but I also believe that the best workouts aren’t just about the cals! I want each of my classes to be the thing that can mentally turn someone’s day around–where you can leave class feeling like a BOSS!
What type of music will we hear in your classes?
A lot of throwback hip hop jams and upbeat EDM beats
