Q&A with Alanna Perry
Owner and Founder

What is your background in fitness?

I have been teaching group fitness classes in Boston for over 10 years! I fell in love with teaching after I realized how much of an impact I could make on others physical and mental health. I was hooked! Over the years I have taught my fitness classes at Reebok, Equinox, Lynx, Seaport Sweat and now at The Grand Nightclub.

What motivates you as a fitness instructor at BG?

Knowing that our classes can be the highlight of someone’s day, knowing that we can turn a bad day into a good day, knowing that we have the ability to make others feel good about themselves from the inside out…that is what motivates me as a Barre Groove instructor. Knowing that we can brighten up your day!

Describe yourself as an instructor in ONE word…

What type of music will we hear in your classes?

I love this question! You will always find the latest and greatest songs on my playlist! I love new releases and badass remixes of all of our favorites. I always promise a solid variety.

What’s your “go-to” drink order?

If I’m ordering a cocktail on a night out it’s a whiskey ginger or a sidecar! If I’m at a juice bar…all things kale and pineapple!

When I’m not teaching at the studio I’m…

As the owner of Barre Groove…I live, eat, and breathe Barre Groove.

If you were stranded on an island and could only bring one piece of fitness equipment what would it be…

A trampoline. Not even a hesitation!

If I had to give myself a superlative it would be…

Most energetic!
